EDUCATION OPTIONS
TE AHO O TE KURA POUNAMU
THE CORRESPONDENCE SCHOOL
We also provide distance education options for students living in New Zealand and overseas, from early childhood through to Year 13. You may be able to enrol with us for free if you meet certain eligibility criteria set by the Ministry of Education. Read the Ministry of Education's enrolment policy to check if you are eligible for a funded place with us. In certain circumstances, students who don’t meet the eligibility criteria for a funded place at Te Kura may be able to enrol with us as a fee-paying student.
We also accept registrations for eligible dual enrolled students. Dual students must be registered by their home school through the Te Kura Enrolment System. The Education Act 1989 provides that students are enrolled with only one school, but allows them to be registered with other providers for specific courses. We work with other schools around New Zealand to provide learning programmes for dual-enrolled students and to support students who are at risk or have special learning needs.

HOME-SCHOOLING
In New Zealand, all children aged between 6 and 16 years of age are required to enrol in and attend a registered school. Home education is where parents or legal guardians take responsibility for the education of their children, instead of enrolling them in school.
