Who We Are
& How We Help
Auckland City Education Services (ACES) Attendance Service responds to cases referred by schools within the Grammar Western Springs, Mt Albert Mt Roskill Lynfield and Waiheke catchments. ACES work directly with ākonga (students) who are experiencing chronic absenteeism or are non-enrolled and with the School to build a plan based on three core principles.

Strength-Based Practice
ACES acts as a vital bridge between whānau/family and the school and to Connect, Assess and Plan to overcome barriers to attendance to ensure meaningful educational engagement will be using a Strengths-Based Approach.

Positive Focus
Aim of the Case Manager is to focus on an individual's inherent capabilities, resources, and potential rather than the deficits impacting on attendance.

Empowering Whānau
ACES aims to work beside ākonga, caregivers, and whānau to build resilience, drive positive change, and foster confidence.

Re-Engagement
Case Manager’s focus is to support ākonga and whānau so they feel empowered to enrol or successfully re-engage in education.
How ACES Attendance Service Works?
At the core of the ACES Attendance Service are three foundational principles. These guide our daily collaboration with schools, whānau, and caregivers to ensure every student feels supported.
